DHAKA: Bangladesh cultural affairs minister Nitai Roy Chowdhury on Friday assured leaders of the Hindu community that “appropriate steps” would be taken to ensure the early release of Hindu monk Chinmoy Krishna Das, who faces charges of sedition and murder.
The Tarique Rahman-led govt is actively working to preserve the cultural heritage of minority communities while carrying out “necessary investigations”, Chowdhury, a prominent Hindu BNP leader and senior advocate, said without elaborating on the investigations being carried out.
