Takeaways and observations from Ravens 34-10 win over Texans in AFC playoffs

Baltimore will host the AFC title game for the first time since January 1971 after a 34-10 divisional-round win over the Houston Texans on Saturday afternoon.

In Saturday’s win, Jackson accounted for four total touchdowns while becoming the first player in NFL history to log two rushing touchdowns, two passing touchdowns, 100 yards rushing, and 100 yards passing in the same game.

With preparation for Championship Sunday set to begin, we’re looking at takeaways and observations from the win.

DeMeco Ryans brought the pressure

According to the NFL’s Next Gen Stats, Jackson faced a career-high blitz rate of 75% and went 13 of 18 for 120 yards and two touchdowns against the Texans blitz.

Jackson was even more impressive by getting rid of the ball in an average of 2.25 seconds in the second half, compared to 3.51 in the first.

Ravens pass rushers

The Ravens led the NFL in sacks this season, but were unable to drop C.J. Stroud on a night where he was solid, but couldn’t do enough, finishing the game 19-for-33 for 175 yards.

The Ravens held the Texans offense to just one field goal, and Houston’s lone touchdown came on the Steven Sims punt return.

Rashod Bateman clutch moments

Bateman had 3 huges catches for 39 yards on the night.

Lamar Jackson Made history

Jackson made NFL history Saturday, becoming the first quarterback since at least 1948 — in the regular season or playoffs — with at least two touchdown passes, two TD runs, 100 yards rushing and a 100 passer rating in the same game.

Texans ran out the building

Baltimore knows their identity and they stick to that script regardless of the opposition.

The Ravens outrushed Houston 229-38, keeping C.J. Stroud and the explosive Texans offense off the field, while wearing down an inexperienced defense.
