Mark Owen surprised viewers of BBC Breakfast on Monday, September 26. Appearing on the morning show, the Take That star was sporting a different look and it wasn't one that many will recognise from his band days.
The change didn't go unnoticed by BBC host Sally Nugent who was quick to ask the question on viewers' lips. She began: "Actually, you look different."
The singer songwriter had joined hosts Sally Nugent and Jon Kay on the show to talk about his new solo single You Only Want Me and the release of his new album Land of Dreams. The 50 year old had longer hair than usual, more facial hair and he was wearing a white knitted cardigan and jeans.

The new look soon had Sally asking questions, meanwhile, fans had taken to social media to comment. Manchester Evening News reported that Sally quizzed: “Actually, you look different. The moustache, how long has that been there?”
Mark replied: “It’s been there for about four years probably. It started off as a beard and then my beard got a bit patchy on this side. Then we were going on tour, and beards can get a bit sweaty on tour”. He added: “So then it became a moustache and it sort of stuck.
"My children keep threatening to cut it off, they’re like, 'Can we just…?' And I [say], 'No! It has to stay.' I said, 'I've done my artwork I can’t change the look!’ I’ve done the video, I can’t change my look now."
Viewers took to Twitter to share their thoughts on the star's new look. "Can't stop looking at Mike Owens moustache #BBCBreakfast", said one person, while another wrote: "Good Lord, what's happened to Mark Owen?? #BBCBreakfast."
Another joked: "#BBCBreakfast whoa! It’s Brad Pitt’s dad." Comments continued: "#BBCBreakfast is that Blakey off On The Buses on? oh no it's Mark Owens." Someone else added: "Sally to an ageing Mark Owen: You look different. Nice Sally, really nice. #BBCBreakfast."
However, some viewers liked the new look saying: “I’m two years younger than Mark Owen and I wish I had the option to grow my hair like that.” Another added: “Mark Owen looks amazing for 50! Are people really shocked that he looks different from his early years?” While a third questioned: “When did it become a crime to have long hair and grow a tash? Met him yesterday and he looks great!”
