Take a look inside the new I'm A Celeb camp as show returns to Australia

It's just a few days to go until I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here is back on our screens. And this year's campmates will be back in the Aussie jungle for the first time since 2019 after Covid restrictions saw the series set in Gwrych Castle, North Wales, in 2020 and 2021.

The 2022 series is set to begin on Sunday and now viewers have been given a sneak peek inside the new camp before it hits screens. This year's campers will be Coronation Street’s Sue Cleaver, reality TV star Olivia Attwood, radio DJ Chris Moyles, rugby star and royal Mike Tindall Loose Women star Charlene White, singer Boy George, Hollyoaks’ Owen Warner, TV presenter and property expert Scarlette Douglas, former footballer Jill Scott and comedian Babatunde Aleshe, reports the M.E.N.

Former health secretary Matt Hancock will also be joining, it has been revealed, reportedly alongside comedian Seann Walsh. The former's inclusion has been controversial, with the Conservative party suspending the whip in response to his decision to take part.

Three years after Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly last hosted the show from Australia, the jungle camp has undergone a bit of a makeover. While fans may think it looks the same, it has actually been made slightly bigger this year.

Bunk beds have been installed in the campsite for the first time in its two-decade run, and a new luxury motorhome has also been parked at the top of the outdoor space which will be used to house two celebrities who will be voted into power in the camp, as has been seen in the previous series.

I'm A Celeb's executive producer Olly Nash said: "It's much bigger than we've ever done before. And we're filming more (challenges) than we've ever filmed before."

And discussing the new sleeping arrangements, he added: "The campfire is still very much the same but we have bunk beds, which is a first for I'm A Celebrity and then we have a Luxury RV (motorhome) that was driven through the jungle about 35 years ago, broke down and was never moved.

"That will make a very comfy home for two people inside there. They won't be in there at the start but on day three, two people will win the right to sleep in there."

Things that haven't changed are the iconic I'm A Celebrity bridge, which will see the celebs cross back and forth for Bushtucker trials or if they are voted off the show. The waterfall shower and a bathtub remains. However, they will need to get on a tandem and cycle in order to see the tub fill up with water.

And he also had a bit of a tease about the first episode on Sunday (November 6): "There'll be more elements lasting over more shows than has happened before too, so it's not all just going to be limited to show one. Not all celebrities will be here in camp at the end of Sunday's show."

Meanwhile, it looks like the campmates kick off their jungle experience by dangling in the air atop a 32-storey building. Members of the production team have been testing out the challenge the brave celebrities will face during the opening show, which is likely to be pre-recorded. Pictures have shown them walking to the edge of the unsteady platform before moving, being able to get off and head to camp.

I'm A Celeb 2022 will be premiering on ITV on Sunday, November 6, at 9pm, with a 105-minute special.
