Club football was back in full swing this weekend after the final international break of the season.
Manchester United couldn't pick up where they left off in the league as they produced an uninspiring draw with Leicester City as they failed to close the gap on Arsenal in fourth. They momentarily moved level on points with Tottenham Hotspur but Antonio Conte's side soon pulled away with a comprehensive 5-1 win over Newcastle.
There were contrasting fortunes for United players plying their trade at temporary clubs. A total of 14 players were sent out on loan in the summer, plus a further five in January with some even switching loan clubs in the midseason market.

With that in mind, MEN Sport has taken a look at how those who were in action over the weekend got on, both here in England, Scotland and abroad.
Brandon Williams missed Norwich's draw with Brighton as the Canaries remain at the foot of the Premier League table. The full-back was absent for the trip to the AMEX Stadium with a knock.
Dean Smith hopes he will be back for their next match as they host Burnley in a relegation showdown. He said: “Hopefully we will have Brandon back for the next game."
Staying in the Premier League, Everton's misery continued as their survival hopes took a knock after they were beaten by West Ham. Donny van de Beek , who completed his temporary move on deadline day, was forced to pull out in the warm-up.
Meanwhile, there were fresh injury concerns for Birmingham City attacker Tahith Chong. The Dutchman was forced off after 56 minutes in their 1-0 win over West Brom on Sunday.
Initial concerns were eased by manager Lee Bowyer, with the boss saying Chong felt some 'tightness' during the game. Chong extended his stay at Old Trafford until at least the summer of 2023 last week. His Blues teammate Teden Mengi remains out through injury.
Di'Shon Bernard continues to be left out in the cold by new Hull boss Shota Arveladze. His latest appearance as an unused substitute came in their defeat to Huddersfield Town. Ethan Laird is facing similar struggles and was left out of Scott Parker's squad at Bournemouth.
James Garner continues to be the name on everyone's lips as his development continues with Nottingham Forest. The midfielder didn't register a goal or an assist in Saturday's early kick-off but he did play the entirety of their emphatic win away at Blackpool as they moved a step closer to the play-offs.
Doncaster Rovers' misery was compounded as they were brushed aside 2-0 by Wycombe Wanderers. Ethan Galbraith was a late addition with the game already wrapped up and failed to make an impact on the result.
Multiple loanees failed to feature off the bench as Matej Kovar awaits his first appearance for Burton Albion, while Reece Devine continued to be left out of the Walsall squad. Axel Tuanzebe failed to add to his one Serie A appearance this season and was on the bench for Napoli's 3-1 win as they kept the pressure up on AC Milan, while Nathan Bishop kept a clean sheet for Mansfield Town in their 1-0 win over Northampton.
Despite early concerns, Dylan Levitt was passed fit to play for Dundee United after pulling out of Wales' international friendly through illness. He was apart of the side that held Hibernian to a 1-1 draw.
Anthony Martial failed to make an impact in his 82 minutes for Sevilla. A great strike from Pedri sealed an important win for Barcelona as Julen Lopetegui's side continue to slip down the La Liga table. Facundo Pellistri was a late addition for Alaves but he couldn't inspire a famous comeback at Atletico Madrid as Diego Simeone's side ran out 4-1 winners.
