Tackling housing crisis at core of King's Speech with ‘Awaab’s Law’ and rights for renters

Moves to tackle the housing crisis were at the core of Sir Keir Starmer’s first King’s Speech on Wednesday.

As well as confirming proposed planning reforms in a bid to build 1.5 million new homes over the next five years, a Renters’ Rights Bill will vow to end “a minority of unscrupulous landlords” preying on tenants.
