Sydney set for September black hole in NRL finals

The NRL is bracing for one of its quietest ever finals series in Sydney, with the possibility of no matches in the game's biggest city in the opening week.

Cronulla's 40-16 win over Newcastle on Sunday locked in the six teams who will host finals matches, with Canterbury and the Sharks the only Sydney teams.
