Homeowners could save hundreds of pounds a year by switching their lightbulbs, according to experts. Lighting firm 4lite said the increasing cost of electricity meant the change would save even more than previously.
Energy bills are set to rise again to an average of £2,500 per year from the start of October. While the rise is considerably less than previoulsy planned thanks to the Government capping the cost for the next two years, it is still double the average just one year ago.
Experts at 4lite said that a single LED bulb used £34 less electricity per year compared to an incandescent bulb prior to the energy crisis. But now, just one year on, that has risen by 75%.
