Magdalena Eriksson says Sweden are dreaming of knocking out England and reaching the final of Euro 2022.
Sweden have failed to shine at the tournament so far but they have nonetheless made it to the semi-finals.
They are now taking on England on Tuesday night at Bramall Lane, with the winner earning a spot in Sunday’s final at Wembley. And Chelsea captain Eriksson has admitted it would be a dream come true to beat England and reach the final.
“I think I have been really impressed with England so far,” she said. “This will be the toughest game so far, it’s the best team we are going to face, but we are so ready for this.
“This game is what we’ve been dreaming of and reaching the next stage, so we’re going to do everything we can.
“Reaching the final, that’s what we dream of. I know a lot of the English girls and this amazing stadium tomorrow is going to be filled. Winning tomorrow would be so cool. I think it would be no matter who we faced.
“We are not Spain. Of course it's going to be a different game than when they played Spain. We’ve shown we’re skilful and have shown really good ways at playing through opponents.
“We’ve shown we can play in many different ways. We’re good at keeping the ball and keeping possession but we’re also good without the ball. It’s a really good strength.”
