Swarmz has dismissed claims he was paid to lose his fight with KSI and went into the fight believing he could shock the world.
YouTube star KSI - real name JJ Olatunji - returned to the ring for the first time since defeating Logan Paul in their 2019 rematch, when he stopped rapper Swarmz - real name Brendan Scott - and Luis Alcaraz Pineda in the same night. Olatunji fought Scott in the opening fight of the night and it ended up being a significant mismatch with Scott on the run before being stopped in the second stanza.
Olatunji had faced criticism for electing to choose his 'friend' Scott as a replacement opponent having released a hit single 'Houdini' together in the past. However Scott has revealed he entered the ring with the sole intentions of pulling off an upset despite being huge underdog.
"Everyone was asking me if I did it for money or if I threw the fight on purpose," Scott said in his first YouTube video since the comprehensive defeat to Olatunji. "Literally I went into the fight thinking I could win, I am a born winner. People doubt me every single time, they laugh at me and always chat s*** about me and I find myself in these tough situations doing a madness so I thought I could do a miracle again.
"So I stepped in the ring I am not going to lie I felt one of his punches and I said 'yo my man has been working hard'. I have seen that he is going to be getting lots of training and he even said to me 'you did your thing and I couldn't knock you out first round'. But yeah I am not going to lie it is serious, it is a hard thing but I am a born winner and I will bounce back."
Olatunji comfortably dispatched of Scott before moving on to do the same against Pineda later that night. He was set to originally face Alex Wassabi but his YouTube rival withdrew after suffering a serious injury. Olatunji's biggest foe Jake Paul was quick to criticise Olatunji's level of opponent and even hit out at the fights claiming they were not professionally sanctioned.
Despite the criticism, Olatunji was delighted with his displays and pointed out the remarkable rise of his profile. I put my focus and determination and I work hard and I keep going," he said after the fight. "I keep proving people wrong and look where I started from my YouTube channel making random videos online.
"Now look selling out the O2 arena and it was full at 7pm for a YouTube boxing event, and I still make videos in my bedroom as well as the boxing, anyone can do it you just have to work hard. I want to release another single and I want to fight again."
