An unlucky factory worker was left unable to drive home after their shift after a swarm of bees landed on her car. The swarm was first spotted in the factory's car park at lunchtime but within an hour it has settled on the yellow vehicle.
The bees were spotted by Steve Lacey, who works at the factory in Billericay, Essex. He explained how the bees landed on a woman's car, forcing her to abandon it and get a lift home from a colleague - but when she returned in the morning the bees were still there.
Speaking to EssexLive, Steve said: "Everyone was fascinated, seeing the swarm of bees and them dancing around on the side of the car. They weren't trying to come at us at all. They were just interested in the queen bee that was sitting on the car."
Despite hoping the bees would have dispersed this morning, the factory staff returned to find the swarm had regrouped together above the car's rear wheel. The picture above shows the bees clumped together around the back of the car.
In an effort to help the car's owner and allow the bees to find a more suitable home, Steve posted a message on Facebook asking local beekeepers if they wanted to pick up the swarm. Beekeepers are able to take the bees safely and use them to set up a hive.
Steve said he had received "loads" of responses. A local beekeeper agreed to come and take the bees away "within the hour".
