A high-level cricket game in Cork was put on hold after a swarm of 20,000 angry bees descended on the playing field.
Players were reportedly chased off the pitch by the mass of insects and play was halted shortly before 4:45 yesterday afternoon.
In what has to be a first for Irish Cricket, a professional beekeeper was called down to the playing grounds at the Mardyke and without even wearing protective gear, managed to secure the hive's queen.

CorkBeo reported that Mauro Dias from Buzz of Nature was the hero of the moment, pictured triumphantly holding a swarm of bees in his hands as players from both the Munster Reds and the Northern Knights watched on - making sure to keep their distance.
One of the spectators at today's event described the chaotic scenes to CorkBeo: "Players were running as fast as they could off the pitch, people here had no idea what was going on and those bees were very angry."
After a lengthy delay, play was finally resumed at 6:15 pm yesterday.
Both teams are currently participating in the T20 Festival, an inter-provincial, three-day tournament that's taking place in Cork this week. Footage of today's match was kindly provided to CorkBeo by Cricket Ireland. You can find information on the Rario T20 Inter-Provincial Festival here.
Now as tournament play resumes, no matter what else happens it'll be hard to say there wasn't a great buzz down the park.
