Swansea's Pizza Boyz restaurant to start delivery service and people say it's ‘the best news ever’

A popular independent pizza restaurant which has received rave reviews since opening in Swansea has announced it is to start delivering.

The Pizza Boyz, run by Delano and Ali Tortorella, twins born in Swansea with their "dad’s Italian roots and mum’s Welsh business head" has won loyal customers since its humble beginnings trading out of a horsebox several years ago before upgrading to a busy restaurant and takeaway on Walter Road, Uplands, in the former Tenby pub.

And now the business, known for its handmade pizzas, has announced it is to take another step to develop the business.

Announcing the new service on their Facebook page, the restaurant wrote: "We are delivering! We’ll be starting this Wednesday, Thursday and Friday to trial it out. Finally, get your Pizza Boyz kick, at home.

"You must order your delivery through our website. We won’t be accepting phone orders for delivery, only online to help ease congestion and calculate a delivery radius."

Many expressed their delight at the news.

One person wrote: "I just fist pumped the air and shouted yes. Oh my God, this is the best news ever."

And another added: "This is literally the best bit of news ever."

Pizza making is long-running family tradition for the Tortorellas.

The Pizza Boyz website states: "The Tortorella family line can be traced way back to a little village called Villagio Tortorella in the Campania Region of southern Italy. The family worked the land on the shores of the sun-kissed Mediterranean, growing tomatoes and tobacco. The tobacco is a no goer these days but they still grow the tomatoes and supply some of Italy's best known companies."

The delivery service will begin on Wednesday, March 16, with eat in and collection options carrying on as usual.

In the meantime, the restaurant is on the look out for delivery drivers. If you are interested, contact them via their social media pages.
