Wolves man linked
Swansea have been linked with a move for Wolves midfielder Luke Cundle.
The Swans sold Flynn Downes to West Ham United earlier this summer and will be without Liam Walsh until next year after he ruptured his Achilles during pre-season. It leaves Russell Martin with Matt Grimes, Joe Allen and Jay Fulton in the centre of the park - with Dan Williams expected to leave on loan.
And Talking Wolves claim the Swans are current front runners to clinch a loan deal for 20-year-old midfielder Cundle - who is also said to have attracted interest from Championship rivals Huddersfield Town, Preston North End and Hull City.
WalesOnline understands Swansea have made an enquiry about the availability of the youngster, although a potential deal is not close to being imminent. It's understood the Swans remain in a position of needing to offload a player before bringing in further recruits, as head coach Russell Martin confirmed after Saturday's 2-0 defeat to Luton Town.
Cundle - who made six first team appearances for Wolves in all competitions last season - can operate in all central positions, including in an advanced attacking role.
Earlier this year, Cundle signed a new four-year contract with Wolves. Speaking about the youngster in March, Wolves' technical director Scott Sellars said: “In all the time Luke’s been with us, he’s always had football intelligence and enthusiasm – he just loves football, and as he’s got stronger, his skills have kicked in.
"Bruno [Lage] talks about the players trusting him and that’s one of the best accolades you can have, and ultimately the manager did as well to play him at Tottenham, when he was brilliant.”
Young gun's gamble pays off
Seb Dabrowski could not hide his delight after netting a dramatic equaliser for Swansea's Under-21s against Crewe Alexandra on Monday.
The hosts trailed 2-0 at the Swansway Stadium but earned themselves a point as Dabrowski netted at the death, with Josh Thomas bagging in the 88th minute.
And the Polish-born defender - who has represented Wales at age grade level - believes he reaped the rewards of playing with confidence after being summoned from the bench in the second-half.
"I'm really happy with the performance from myself and the boys. I got my opportunity and I think I took it well," he told the club's official website.
"It was last minute, I wasn't going to create any other chances by playing backwards, so I just thought I'll go for it and it paid off.
"I think everyone needs a bit of confidence in themselves, just be confident because those chances will pay off. When they start paying off, you will be capable of doing it over and over.
"Overall, I believe we did well in the game. It was a good team effort, especially in the last 15 minutes to keep going and come back to get a draw.
"The goal has really boosted my confidence and I'm going to try and take that back to the under-18s and hopefully kick on from here."
Madley to take charge of Boro contest
Robert Madley will take charge of Swansea's clash with Middlesbrough on Saturday.
Madley was the man in the middle as the Swans defeated Plymouth Argyle 4-1 in the Carabao Cup last season.
The west Yorkshire official will be assisted by Daniel Leach and Geoffrey Liddle. Jonathan Hunt is the fourth official.
Kick-off at the Riverside Stadium is at 3pm on Saturday.
