Stance on Bello
Reports linking Swansea with US international George Bello are believed to be wide of the mark, WalesOnline understands.
News emerged earlier this week that Swansea and Watford were "in talks" with the left-back over a move to the Championship.
The defender currently plays in Germany with third-tier Bundesliga side Arminia Bielefeld. Football Insider reported that Bello could be available on a free transfer this summer. To get the latest Swans news sent straight to your inbox, sign up here.
Swansea are on the lookout for a new left-sided defender with Ryan Manning now gone from south Wales, but a move for former Atlanta man Bello has been played down by club sources.
Tykes chief on Duff
Swansea have been linked with the services of Barnsley manager Michael Duff in the past 24 hours and WalesOnline understands he is firmly in the running.
He said after the Tykes' play-off final defeat to Sheffield Wednesday that he would "take stock" and get ready to go again. His chief executive Khaled El-Ahmad said earlier this week that they were planning for all scenarios amid interest in his manager.
"He is under contract and he is coaching Barnsley FC.," he said. "For assurances, he is under contract, just like the players are and we are planning the pre-season. So far, there's nothing else to report. There's been none (interest).
"Obviously, I don't talk about individual contracts in public. All I can say is that we are prepared for all scenarios at all times. In a sense in football, if it happens, it happens. But it's all heading in the right direction. We are in a good place."
Premier League free agents
Premier League clubs have submitted their lists of players they will be releasing from their squads this summer.
As such there will some absolute bargains on the market who could be of interest to Championship clubs like Swansea City.
Both Welsh clubs will be shopping on a budget - and in Cardiff's case they are currently unable to pay a fee for a player - so the free agent market will be of interest.
Last week we brought you the Championship free agents, which you can see here.
Now we have the top-flight edition. Obviously there will be a number of names which would be out of Swansea's reach but have a look at the list and decide for yourself if any take your fancy. See the full list here.
