Midfielder set for spell on sidelines
Dan Williams is set for a spell on the sidelines after suffering an ankle injury.
The midfielder joined Dundalk on loan in January and made an impressive start to life with the League of Ireland Premier Division club, scoring in each of his first two competitive outings. He made 10 appearances for Stephen O’Donnell’s side but was withdrawn in the second-half of his side's clash with Sligo Rovers on April 15.
He is set to be out of action for at least a month and has returned to Swansea to undergo his rehabilitation. Williams was in attendance for the Swans' 1-0 loss to Queens Park Rangers on the final day of the campaign.
WalesOnline has learned that Williams does not require an operation having recently been in a protective boot. “Dan will be out for a period of time," Dundalk boss O'Donnell recently told the Irish media.
“It'll be significant enough. We don't know for sure but he'll be out for the foreseeable future – the next month at least.”
Wales Under-21 international Williams made his senior debut for Swansea against Reading in the Carabao Cup in August while he scored in his only other first team appearance against Plymouth Argyle a fortnight after his debut.
Prior to leaving Swansea on loan, academy product Williams signed a contract extension with his boyhood club. The 21-year-old's current deal expires in the summer of 2023, although the Swans hold a 12-month extension option.

Pato's thanks to Jack Army
Jamie Paterson has thanked Swansea supporters for the patience they have shown during his first season at the club.
The Swans endured a mixed campaign in what was a transitional period following the exit of Steve Cooper last summer. Paterson excelled in south Wales having been released by Bristol City last summer and established himself as a key figure under head coach Russell Martin.
And the attacker could not hide his delight having played a starring role in Swansea's historic derby double against Cardiff.
"Season complete," he wrote on Instagram. "Ups an downs but the improvement of this group is for all to see.
"Thanks to all the fans for your patience and support personally and as a collective. I'm proud to be part of the group that made a little bit of history this season."
Potter 'perfect' for Spurs
Gus Poyet believes Graham Potter would be the "perfect" candidate for the Tottenham job.
Antonio Conte raised concerns over his future at Spurs earlier this year, stating he needs to "make an assessment with the club" following a 1-0 defeat to Burnley in February. He has since stated his commitment to the cause but has stressed the north London outfit need to spend well in the transfer window to improve next season.
But former Tottenham star Poyet believes ex-Swansea boss Potter's preferred style of play would make him the ideal man to take the hotseat at Spurs should Conte depart.
“He’s perfect for many reasons," he told Boyle Sports. "The way he wants to play football, he’s proved himself in the Premier League.
“It’s the right timing and with respect to Brighton, Spurs are bigger. If Conte leaves, it’s the perfect match for Tottenham and him.”
Testimonial and Austin memorial fixture this weekend

The fixture at The Memorial Stadium will be played in memory of former Rovers and Swans star Kevin Austin while it will also serve as a testimonial for ex-Rovers physio Steve Bissix.
Austin died from pancreatic cancer at the age of just 45 in November 2018. He was part of the side that tasted Football League Trophy glory in 2006 while he was also a key squad member under Roberto Martinez when the Swans won the League One title in 2008.
Ricky Lambert, Richard Walker, Lee Mansell, Steve Elliot, Danny Coles, Steve Phillips, Aaron Lescott, Craig Hinton, Jo Kuffour, Mark McKeever, Byron Anthony, Tom Parrinello, Andy Monkhouse, Chris Carruthers, Mike Trout, Trevor Challis, Ijah Anderson, Lewis Hogg, Simon Bryant, Kevin Gall, Steve Foster, Dave Gilroy, Craig Disley, Ryan Green and Jeff Hughes have all confirmed they will take part in the match.
Kick-off in Bristol is at 3pm on Sunday, May 15.
