Pundit's transfer admission
Jamie Mackie believes Swansea can be serious contenders for promotion next season if Russell Martin is backed in the summer transfer window.
The Swans fell 17 points adrift of the top six places after a run of just three wins in 21 league outings but have dramatically surged back into play-off contention of late.
Indeed, Martin's side have collected 19 points from the 21 on offer across their previous seven Championship fixtures. They now sit just three points off the top six ahead of their final two matches of the campaign against Hull City and West Brom.

And former striker Mackie lavished praise on the Swans for the way they dismantled Martin's former club Norwich last time out to extend their unbeaten sequence to seven games.
"I have to say they were outstanding today," Mackie said of Swansea's success over the Canaries on ITV's EFL highlights.
"You can't go a man down to Swansea, they're the worst team in the league to go a man down to.
"They had nearly 900 completed passes today. With that, they backed it up, the way they pass the ball, passing forward, and they scored three goals.
"If the club backs Russell Martin, I think, the way they're finishing the season, they can go on and be very strong next season."
Trio 'tracking' Cullen
Liam Cullen is attracting interest from Sunderland, Middlesbrough and Celtic, according to reports.
The striker took his goal tally to nine for the season by netting Swansea City's second in a 3-0 win over Norwich City at Carrow Road on Saturday afternoon.
And Football Insider report that Championship rivals Boro and Sunderland are both keeping a close eye on the 24-year-old, as well as Scottish Premiership leaders Celtic.
Cullen is set to enter the final year of his contract with his boyhood club this summer, although the Swans do hold the option to extend the frontman's deal by an additional 12 months.
The academy product - who earned his maiden call-up to Wales' senior squad earlier this year - has a conversion rate of 35 per cent this season, the best percentage in the Swansea squad.
Players offer Martin backing
Liam Cullen and Ben Cabango both echoed Jamie Mackie in stating Russell Martin can enjoy great success with Swansea next season.
Cullen has excelled under the head coach this season while Cabango's development has been remarkable since Martin joined the Swans from MK Dons in August 2021.
And the Welsh pair have both shared their delight at working under the current coaching staff.
“We are probably more pleased for the manager and his staff than we are for ourselves as players, because everyone in this group and everyone in this club knows how good he is,” Cullen told the club website.
“He is a massive part of this club and the philosophy he has brought with him is brilliant, and we all love playing the game this way."
Cabango commented: “We have stuck to how we want to play, and the gaffer and his staff have been key in that and committing to it. We love it as players, and they are always honest with us.
“When the manager first came in, I had a little period out of the team but he kept talking to me and telling me things to work on to get back in the team so that’s really good.
“He’s so open and honest which helps. When a manager is honest, you know what he wants. Another season under him, I believe we can go places. I truly believe that."
