Obafemi to undergo Clarets medical
Michael Obafemi will undergo a medical at Burnley after the Clarets agreed a deal to sign the Swansea striker.
Vincent Kompany has long been an admirer of the Republic of Ireland international and is finally set to secure the services of the 22-year-old this month having previously had multiple bids for him rejected by Swansea.
Obafemi will join the Championship leaders on loan, although Burnley have an obligation to make the deal permanent in the summer for a sum of around £4m.
The forward - who has not featured for Swansea since their 0-0 draw with Huddersfield Town at The John Smith's Stadium before the World Cup - is now due to undertake a medical with the Turf Moor outfit today (Thursday).
Southampton - who sold Obafemi to Swansea in the summer of 2021 - will be owed a percentage of the profit made on the deal that will see the striker move to Lancashire.
Obafemi is set to leave Swansea having scored 15 times in 52 appearances for the club.

Duo favourites to sign Gelhardt
Sunderland and Blackburn Rovers are understood to be the frontrunners to sign Joe Gelhardt on loan from Leeds United.
The Swans were interested in a deal to recruit the 20-year-old for the remainder of the campaign, although the player's high wages proved to be a stumbling block in a potential deal.
He was expected to join former club Wigan Athletic for the rest of the season, although a deal between the Whites and the Latics was not ratified last week.
As such, Gelhardt featured in Leeds' squad for their 0-0 draw with Brentford in the Premier League on Sunday.
And Championship pair Sunderland and Blackburn are now battling it out to clinch the loan signature of Gelhardt - who has made 19 appearances in all competitions under Jesse Marsch so far this season.
Nevertheless, the Swans would still be interested in a swoop for the frontman should a deal become possible.
Burnley forward linked
Swansea are interested in Burnley's Ashley Barnes, according to The Telegraph.
Russell Martin is keen to bolster his forward options and is set to lose Michael Obafemi to the Clarets in the coming days.
And reports suggested 33-year-old forward Barnes is among those who Swansea have monitored as a potential replacement for Obafemi.
Barnes is proven at Championship level and will be out-of-contract in the summer, although his profile does not fit the model of a Swansea signing given that he will have precious little resale value.
Tributes paid to club icon
Swansea have paid tribute to former player Peter Davies who has died at the age of 86.
Davies made 155 appearances for the Swans between 1959 and 1965, scoring five goals for the club.
The former wing-half won the Wales Senior Cup on two occasions while he was also part of the squad that defeated Bangor City to win the Welsh Cup in 1961.
Davies - who hailed from Dafen - also had spells with Arsenal, Brighton, Merthyr, Germiston Callies and Ammanford.
Part of a club statement read: "Everyone at Swansea City sends their sincerest condolences to Peter’s friends and family at this sad time."
