Russell Martin admits Joel Piroe has been affected by the transfer speculation surrounding his Swansea City future.
The Dutchman has been a revelation during his maiden campaign with the Swans, scoring 24 goals in 47 appearances since joining from PSV Eindhoven last summer. His form has led to serious transfer interest from Leicester City while it is understood other clubs have monitored his situation.
Piroe was withdrawn on the hour mark of Swansea's final game of the 2021/22 campaign against Queens Park Rangers, with Olivier Ntcham coming on in his place. The 22-year-old was embraced by head coach Martin on the sideline as he made his way off the field and to the dugout.

And Martin believes the frontman was unable to deliver his best form against Mark Warburton's men amid the talk of a likely exit from the Swansea.com Stadium this summer.
"He's a young man, there's a lot of speculation and noise and I don't think he could perform at his best today because of it," said Martin. "That was it really. He deserved an ovation from the supporters for what he's given us this season.
"We have a valuation of him, and every player. If someone meets it, then so be it, we'll have to be ready. We'll be absolutely disappointed to lose such a good player, but I think he appreciates that this club's been really good for him this season, he's been really good for us and it's just been a good fit.
"I think he's grateful that we've played a certain way that highlights and compliments his strengths."
Piroe's name was chanted by the Jack Army during the 1-0 loss to QPR while he was also applauded and had his name sung by supporters as players and coaches undertook a lap of appreciation after the game.
It's understood he is highly likely to be sold during the close season as Swansea bid to plug a financial hole. However, Martin believes the club will not need to sell any more of their prized assets if their valuation of Piroe is met.

"I think it puts in a really strong position to not have to do anything, unless, again, something comes in that's life-changing for the club and the player involved," said Martin when asked if more players will have to be sold if Piroe's valuation is met.
"The valuation, it does definitely strengthen us and would change the landscape. We haven't had one call yet. I know the season is not finished for most people. Joel, hopefully like the majority of players, loves being here."
Piroe has two years left to run on his contract with the Swans.
