Swansea City player ratings as excellent Fisher thwarts Coventry City

ANDY FISHER - Star Man 8

Decent save to deny Callum Doyle in the first-half and did brilliantly to deny Gustavo Hamer from a one-on-one situation. Kept out another Hamer effort in the second half before superbly blocking a Matty Godden effort to deservedly claim a clean sheet.

HARRY DARLING 6

Headed wide early on and was, on the whole, solid at right-back once again. Spurned a golden chance to score within a minute of the second half but was always a threat from set plays.

NATHAN WOOD 6

Typically accurate and productive in possession and did so well to limit the impact of Viktor Gyokeres, making some timely clearances too. Had a little wobble late on and was yellow carded but another solid display on the whole.

BEN CABANGO 7

Made a couple of timely tackles and looked to carry the ball upfield when possible to give Swansea's attackers more options to threaten. Went close from a free-kick in the first half.

RYAN MANNING 7

Put in a fine cross for Darling early on and linked up well with Liam Walsh. Very lucky to get away with a loose pass that was intercepted by Hamer though. The most likely to create something at times, as his cross for Liam Walsh at the start of the second half proved.

MATT GRIMES 7

Did his defensive duties well in what was an enjoyable midfield battle. Won his share of free-kicks and was always slick on the ball.

OLIVIER NTCHAM 7

Kept things ticking over and caught a shot superbly late on in the first half, only to be denied by Ben Wilson. Some good efforts from distance in the final stages too and always looked to make something happen. Withdrawn.

LUKE CUNDLE 6

Pretty quiet first-half, all things told, but was tidy enough. Read play well to make a couple of timely interceptions. Solid. Withdrawn in the second half.

LIAM WALSH 7

Was the best player on the pitch in the first half against his former employers. Showed grit when needed but his positivity in possession was vital. Played a part in an early Darling chance and rattled the post himself. Subbed.

JOEL PIROE 6

A pretty quiet first half from the Dutchman whose best effort came from a Walsh pass, although he could only drill wide from a narrow angle. Twice went close in the second half and drilled at Ben Wilson from a tight angle.

LIAM CULLEN 6

As with Piroe, it was a fairly uneventful opening 45 for Cullen. Put in a good defensive shift as ever. Taken off in the second half.

Subs

Jamie Paterson (for Cullen) - Very quiet cameo from the attacker, in truth. 6

Jay Fulton (for Cundle) - Solid enough during his limited time on the pitch. 6

Morgan Whittaker (for Walsh) - Looked threatening in the final third, going close to teeing up Piroe late on. Couldn't poke goalwards at the death. 6

Ollie Cooper (for Ntcham) - Too late to make an impact. N/A
