Coach leaves Swansea
Swansea set-piece coach Andy Parslow has left the club.
Parslow joined the Swansea.com Stadium outfit last summer from AFC Wimbledon.
In a statement, the club wrote: "Swansea City can confirm set-piece coach Andy Parslow has left the club.
"Parslow joined Russell Martin’s backroom team in June 2022 following his departure from AFC Wimbledon.
"Everyone at Swansea City would like to thank Andy for his efforts during his time at the club and wish him well for the future."
What a goal
Swansea under-21s smashed 10 goals past Birmingham in Landore on Wednesday in a 10-1 victory.
The scoreline was remarkable enough but one of the goals - from Corey Hurford - was of breathtaking quality.
Receiving the ball on the right-hand side deep in Blues territory, Hurford spins into the penalty area in a double drag-back spinning motion, playing a quick one-two before bamboozling two opposition defenders with a crafty Cruyff turn and then poking past the away keeper.
The move left Hurford's team-mates astounded, with one left with his hands on his head in amazement.
It has to go down as one of Swansea's best goals of the season at all levels.
Josh Thomas, who scored just the four goals in the match, said of the performance: “It was unbelievable, to be fair.
“To finish off the season so strongly was excellent.
“We create so many chances it’s ridiculous. You have to love being be a striker in this team because you’re always getting the ball and there are always crosses into the box. I have to thank my team-mates. To score that many goals in a game as a team is incredible.
“I was pleased with the four goals. I think the first goal sums up my game really. I press defenders, hunt the ball down and win the ball back off the defender.
“The other three goals are just striker’s goals.”
First pre-season game locked in
Swansea will travel to Oxford United as part of their preparations for the 2023/24 campaign.
Striker Kyle Joseph spent the season with League One side U's and the relationship has now seen a friendly booked in this summer.
"Swansea City will face Oxford United in a pre-season friendly as part of preparations for the 2023-24 Championship campaign," a statement from the club reads.
"The Swans will take on the League One U’s at the Kassam Stadium on Friday, July 21, with kick-off at 7.30pm.
"Ticketing and streaming details for this fixture will be confirmed in due course, as will further additions to our pre-season schedule."
Ogbeta signs off
Nathanael Ogbeta has sent a farewell message to Peterborough United fans after his loan spell ended with the club.
The defender came off injured in the last game of the season with a muscle injury which has curtailed his time with the Posh.
“It’s been a special time here on loan at Posh," he wrote on Instagram.
"So thankful to God for the opportunity to play, learn and improve. Learnt so much and so blessed to have been apart of this amazing team.
"Gutted I’m missing the playoffs with the boys but still going to be supporting all the way!!!
"Thanks to all the fans for all your support and also to my church family for their prayers and encouragement!!!"
