Swansea City headlines as Swans and Sunderland battle for coach and Wolves loanee makes promising pledge

Swansea and Sunderland are both reportedly keen on appointing Adam Asghar to their respective backroom teams.

Asghar recently left his role at Dundee United's academy, and journalist Alan Nixon claims the 28-year-old is attracting plenty of attention from clubs across English football's second tier.

It is claimed the Swans and the Black Cats have held talks over the possibility of bringing him to their backroom teams.

Cundle keen to build on Tigers mauling

Swansea new boy Luke Cundle says he hopes Saturday's convincing win over Hull City will provide the perfect platform upon which to build for Russell Martin's side.

The 20-year-old, on loan from Wolves, managed to get on the scoresheet in a 3-0 win over the Tigers at the Swansea.com, and clearly believes there is more to come.

“The win gives us a big boost," he said. "Probably in the last few games we’ve not quite got the points we deserve we feel. It’s a massive boost to get the three points. Hopefully now we can kick on and start moving up the table.

“I feel it has been coming. The lads have been playing well and we got our rewards this time. It was obviously a great feeling scoring at home in my first proper run out. I thought the lads played well with the way they kept the ball, controlled the game for us, really helped us going forward.

“Of course I am pleased to score but I don’t really set targets for myself in that kind of way. What I do know, though, is when I go out onto the pitch I have to perform, and I try to do my best. If goals come, then that’s just a bonus, but I want to settle in quickly and contribute.

“All the lads have been great at the club. The gaffer and all his staff have been great, too. I’m really enjoying it here at the moment.”

Wilson hails spirit of young Swans

Kyrell Wilson hailed the team spirit shown by Swansea City under-18s, after helping them fight back with two late goals to earn a point at Burnley.

Wilson and Iwan Morgan struck in stoppage time against the Clarets as the young Swans bounced back from 3-1 down to snatch a 3-3 draw.

"In the first half, we had a slow start," said the 17-year-old. "But, in the last stages, we came together and worked hard to claim the point. It was good to see everyone working together.

"Playing for both the under-21s and under-18s at the moment is good for my development. I just love playing football, so it's great to feature for both teams.

"Going into next week, we'll just be analysing the play both as a team and as players. We'll be putting in the work on the training pitch to improve on this game and hopefully, we can get the three points at Cardiff."
