NEW DELHI: Tensions escalated between Ukraine's Elina Svitolina and Aryna Sabalenka of Belarus after the quarter-final match at the French Open as Svitolina accused Sabalenka of deliberately provoking the tense stand-off between Ukrainian and Belarusian players.
Sabalenka emerged victorious with a score of 6-4, 6-4, and approached the net expecting a handshake, despite Svitolina's earlier statement that she would not be offering one.
