Newcastle United have confirmed the signing of Sven Botman after a deal was agreed earlier this week. The defender, 22, joins the Magpies on a five-year deal after deciding to leave French outfit Lille.
Botman has been a top target for Newcastle since before the January window but was also courted by AC Milan earlier this summer. The Serie A side fell flat in their attempts to land the Dutchman, allowing Newcastle to secure the exciting deal.
The centre-back will join up with his new team-mates once his summer break is completed - and speaking after his move was officially announced, the youngster admitted his delight at joining the Premier League side.
