Authorities have revealed that the man suspected of being involved in the tragic incident that led to the death of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson was captured on video surveillance leaving Central Park without his backpack. The suspected gunman, who was initially seen wearing a backpack during the shooting outside a hotel in Manhattan’s Midtown neighborhood, was observed making his way between two vehicles before getting onto a bike and disappearing into Central Park, according to the NYPD.
Subsequent surveillance footage depicted the individual believed to be the shooter re-emerging from Central Park without the backpack in question. Despite efforts by law enforcement, the backpack has yet to be located, prompting a thorough search of the expansive park on Thursday.
