Suspected cannabis farm raided by police in Newcastle suburb

Northumbria Police officers were called out to an incident at a property in a Newcastle suburb on Sunday.

A cordon had been put up this afternoon in Marleen Avenue in Heaton as officers entered a flat in the street.

A police car was also on the scene of what is suspected to be a raid on a cannabis farm on the quiet, residential street near Chillingham Road.

The front door was seen to be removed from the property.

Officers in overalls were seen entering and leaving the property several times carrying bags of evidence and disposing of them into a large skip.
