A suspect has denied murdering a man at a flat in Anfield.
Leroy Venner, from Toxteth, was found dead at an apartment on Belmont Drive at around 3pm on July 27 this year after suffering head injuries. Kevin Spaine, of no fixed address, has been charged with the 53-year-old's murder.
He appeared before Liverpool Crown Court via video link to HMP Altcourse this afternoon, Thursday. The 43-year-old, who wore a grey Nike zip-up top over a white t-shirt, spoke to confirm his name before pleading not guilty to the count.
A seven-day trial has been set for February 13 next year. Spaine was remanded into custody ahead of that date by Judge Brian Cummings KC.
