Police have charged a man after the bomb squad was called to a house in Liverpool.
Officers were carrying out a warrant at the property, on Netherby Street, Dingle at around 8.20pm on Monday, September 19. During the raid they found a suspected firearm, ammunition and a hand grenade.
The Explosive Ordnance Disposal team were called and carried out a controlled explosion of the hand grenade. Officers then took the gun and ammunition be forensically examined.

After the seizure of the weapons, police arrested six people, A 58 year-old man; a 27 year-old man; a 37 year-old man; a 61 year-old woman; a 16 year-old female and a 32 year-old woman. Detectives have now revealed that five of those arrested, including a teenager, have been released under investigation.
Paul Cox, of Netherby Street, has been remanded into custody after being charged. He has been held on suspicion of possession of a prohibited weapon, possessing ammunition for a firearm and possessing an unlawful explosive substance for unlawful purpose.
A Merseyside police spokesperson said: "We have charged a 58-year-old man with possession of a prohibited weapon, possessing ammunition for a firearm and possessing an unlawful explosive substance for unlawful purpose. The charges come after a warrant was executed at a property on Netherby Street in Dingle on the evening of Monday, September 19.
"Paul Cox, of Netherby Street, was remanded into custody to appear at Wirral adult remand court today, Wednesday, September 21. Five other people arrested have been released under investigation pending further enquiries."
