Luigi Mangione, the suspect in the killing of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson, was denied bail during a court appearance on Tuesday and is currently fighting extradition to New York.
Following the denial of bail, a Pennsylvania court has granted Mangione 14 days to file for a writ of habeas corpus. If he files within this timeframe, a hearing will be scheduled accordingly.
As of now, Mangione will remain at the Huntingdon State Correctional Institution while the legal proceedings unfold. Prosecutors have been given a 30-day window to secure a governor's warrant for his extradition to New York.
