An e-bike was used by the suspect who shot and killed UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson, as confirmed by a law enforcement official. The suspect initially fled on foot and then switched to an e-bike, with the last sighting being in Central Park early this morning, according to the police.
Providing some context, earlier on Wednesday, NYPD Chief of Detectives mentioned that the suspect had fled on a Citi Bike equipped with a GPS system. Chief Joe Kenny stated during a news conference that they were actively reviewing surveillance footage to track the suspect's movements. The last known location of the suspect on the Citi Bike was within Central Park. The NYPD intended to collaborate with the bike-sharing company to leverage the GPS data for further investigation.
