Authorities have confirmed that the suspect behind the shocking murder of a 33-year-old artist at an upscale wellness retreat in Water Mill, New York, has been found dead in his Pennsylvania home. The victim, Sabina Rosas, was discovered deceased in a guest room at the Shou Sugi Ban House, sparking a police investigation.

Rosas, a talented artist who graduated from Purchase College in 2020, had a compelling background as a childhood refugee from the former Soviet Union. She arrived in the U.S. in 2009 to pursue her passion for art, as described in her online biography.

The Southampton town police were the first responders to the scene, where they suspected foul play and called in Suffolk County authorities for further assistance. A mobile crime lab was deployed to the property, which features luxurious accommodations costing upwards of $1,000 per night.

The Shou Sugi Ban House, founded in 2019 by Amy Cherry-Abitbol, is renowned as the Hamptons' premier high-end wellness retreat. Inspired by the Japanese concept of wabi-sabi, the retreat emphasizes the beauty of imperfection and the harmony with nature.

Notable guests at the retreat have included celebrities like Gwyneth Paltrow, Kate Hudson, and fashion designer Stella McCartney. The retreat's culinary offerings are curated by Noma co-founder and Michelin-starred chef Mads Refslund, ensuring a top-tier experience for visitors.

While the investigation into the tragic incident continues, the community mourns the loss of a promising artist and seeks justice for the victim. The circumstances surrounding the murder and the subsequent death of the suspect have left many unanswered questions, underscoring the need for a thorough and diligent inquiry by law enforcement authorities.
