The chief suspect in the murder of Gary "The Canary" Carey smeared himself in his own faeces in garda station after he was arrested over the killing last month.
The Irish Mirror can reveal the thug, aged in his 30s, carried out a dirty protest in a cell which he left covered in his excrement in a bid to avoid being quizzed.
The gangster was lifted from Mountjoy prison, where he is on other matters, on May 16.
