Susanna Reid quickly spring into action as one of Good Morning Britain's regular guests broke a golden TV rule when it comes to pre-watershed viewing. The presenter was back at the helm of the ITV daytime show on Wednesday (November 2) alongside Ed Balls and their top news was that Matt Hancock had touched down in Australia after signing up for I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!
The former health secretary's surprise appearance on the ITV reality show, hosted by Ant and Dec, was reported on Tuesday (November 1) but remains unconfirmed by ITV. However, it was swiftly announced that Mr Hancock had been suspended as a Tory MP.
While ITV have already confirmed the te celebrities who will go into the jungle when I'm A Celeb returns this Sunday Mr Hancock, 44, is reportedly set to be one of two latecomers who'll go into the camp, a tradition which has come to be expected among fans of the reality series.

The other is comedian Seann Walsh, 36, who was included in the rumoured line-up as the stars landed at Brisbane Airport last week. Meanwhile, a smiling Mr Hancock was seen arriving in Austrlia late on Tuesday evening (UK time) and has also written a column for The Sun in which he has defended his decision to appear on the reality show.
During the latest episode of GMB, Susanna and Ed were discussing Mr Hancock's decision to enter I'm A Celeb with Andrew Pierce and Kevin Maguire. But Susanna, 51, had to step in when Andrew took aim at the West Suffolk MP.
Things got heated on the news panel and when the hosts and their guest were discussing whether there was anything good about him being on the show, Andrew didn't hold back as he branded Mr Hancock a "d******d".
"He’s a d***head... I can say that, can’t I?" he said at half six this morning before immediately being left red-faced after realising he shouldn't have said what he did. Meanwhile, Susanna shouted: "No, no, you can't say that," before she apologised to viewers for the slip-up. "Apologies, everyone," she said.
But GMB viewers appeared amused. @ChrisHopkins92 tweeted: "Amazing moment on @GMB when @toryboypierce calls Matt Hancock a 'd******d'." @PetiteCee laughed: "Andrew Pierce on #GMB 'Matt Hancock is a d******d' Happy Wednesday everyone!!" @zenith242 added: "Andrew Pierce calling Matt Hancock a ‘d******d’ on #GMB at 6:30 in the morning is TV gold."
A political ally of Matt Hancock's said: "I'm A Celeb is the most watched show on TV. Matt doesn’t expect to serve in Government again, so it's an incredible opportunity for him to engage with the 12million Brits who tune in every single night.
"Matt has told the whips in Parliament and he will use his time in the jungle to promote his dyslexia campaign.
"Matt has an excellent team working with him in West Suffolk, but producers have agreed that he can communicate with them if there's an urgent constituency matter."
