Susanna Reid exits GMB studio as mum of missing rugby star Levi Davis tears up

Susanna Reid left her spot in the GMB studio today to comfort the mother of Levi Davis as she broke down in tears on the show.

This morning, the presenter was interviewing Julie Davis, the mother of X Factor star Levi, who has been missing in Barcelona for three months.

Since his disappearance, CCTV has shown him leaving the Old Irish Pub near the Las Ramblas, just hours after he arrived on a boat from Ibiza, writes The Mirror. Levi's passport was discovered near the city's port and there have been a few unconfirmed sightings.

Speaking on the ITV breakfast show today, Julie said: "It's been very very difficult, I've been trying to take one day at a time. Recently I started back work, just to have some kind of normality because I think sitting at home, looking at the four walls is doing my head in.

"Also on that night, he made a phone call to me to say he was thinking of staying at a hostel here before I take my next journey. I said, oh Levi, how many more times do you wanna take money off me? You're going to have to sort yourself out this time."

She added: "He said he had some friends he could get in touch with and that's the last phone call we had."

Julie then got upset after she said she had a feeling something was wrong.

"Just before he left, there was a message that - maybe the powers up above - that just said to me, just give him a hug as you don't know if it'll be your last," she shared before breaking down in tears as Susanna held her hand and consoled her.

Good Morning Britain presenter Susanna Reid left the studio this morning to console Levi Davis' mum Julie and held her hand through the interview as she appeared on the ITV breakfast show to talk about the missing X Factor star (ITV)

The concerned mother said that she wished she had more information, and was forced to go through the British consulate because of the language barrier between her and the Spanish police.

She said: "The Spanish police, they've done their bit as well. Where it's been quite difficult is not having the information come through because there's a language barrier. Having to go via the British consulate and then the feedback of news and updates is very slow. I know they're pressing but in terms of updates, we got information back saying unfortunately it's too late."

"The Spanish police had to go to court to get papers signed so they could access the CCTV coverage. By the time they got it, it was too late."

Susanna consoled Julie (ITV)

Susanna could see she was extremely upset and held Julie's hand throughout.

"Julie we're all with you, we'll keep on it. Our hearts are with you. Lots of love ok."

After the break, Ed Balls appeared to be presenting alone and confirmed Susanna had stepped out of the studio for the time being to support Julie.

After about 15 minutes, she returned to her presenting spot and apologised to viewers for her taking some time away from the show as she praised Julie for being a "tower of strength".
