Susanna Reid 'almost disappears under her desk after GMB guest calls Matt Hancock a d***head

Susanna Reid was forced to apologise after a talk show guest called Matt Hancock a "d***head." The Good Morning Britain host had to apologise after the comments were made on-air during the show on Wednesday November 2.

Reid and co-host Ed Balls were discussing the former health minister's decision to join this year's I'm a Celebrity...Get me Out of Here! with guest Andrew Pierce. During the segment Pierce, a Daily Mail journalist, said: “He’s a d***head... I can say that, can’t I?” Reid quickly jumped in: “No! Apologies, everyone.”

The incident drew glee from people on social media with one person saying: “Amazing moment on @GMB when @toryboypierce calls Matt Hancock a ‘d***head’.” Another added: "Andrew Pierce on GMB calling Matt Hancock a “d***head” twice, quality!" A third said: "Laughed out loud at you calling him a d***head and@susannareid100 almost disappearing under her desk."

Matt Hancock was health minister in the UK government and oversaw much of Britain's response to the pandemic before losing his job in June 2021 for breaking his own social distancing rules after cameras caught him kissing an aide. His decision to enter the jungle has provoked outrage in some quarters with people questioning whether he should continue to earn an MP's salary while going on the show. Mr Hancock immediately had the party whip suspended after his appearance on the show was announced on Tuesday. He said he'd decided to go to Australia so he can “go to where the people are — not to sit in ivory towers in Westminster”.
