Susan Calman is totally blown away by Tenby as she films TV show there calling it 'a fairytale place'

Comedian and presenter Susan Calman has shared her thoughts on Pembrokeshire seaside town of Tenby after filming the fourth episode of her Channel 5 show there. In the series, Susan Calman's Grand Week by the Sea, the host visits a different seaside resort in a bid to celebrate the best of the British seaside.

As she arrives in Tenby, Susan says: “Already, it’s proving pretty breathtaking,” before commenting on her love of the town's beloved multicoloured buildings. Her enthusiasm continues when she travels via a local form of transport - the tuk-tuk. Driving past the various buildings, she comments how they are “gorgeous” and like “multicoloured sweets”.

Coming to a halt, Susan leaves the tuk-tuk and overlooks the harbour. With a huge grin on her face, she says: “It’s like a fairytale place. Couldn’t be better.”

During the episode, Susan visits various places in Tenby in order to get a flavour for the town. She meets Tenby’s only female skipper who invites her on a sea-angling trip, visits a unique glamping site and even takes a trip to Folly Farm Adventure Park.

She also meets up with TV presenter Anthea Turner who reminisces about the many family holidays she enjoyed in Tenby. Anthea, who last visited in 1973, said: "It's exactly the same and how gorgeous is that? Most places change. It's beautifully, innocently how I remember it."

Finally, Susan spots the Tenby Aces team who are practising for the annual event which has given Tenby the nickname of ‘Iron Town’. It’s a triathlon in which contestants have to swim, cycle and run. Susan may not be ready for a full triathlon just yet but she enjoys joining them for a swim in Tenby’s beautiful waters. "What a lovely way to leave this seaside town," she says after her swim.
