Susan Boyle is back, and she’s teasing her long-awaited return to music by debuting a fierce and downright c*nty new look that has left fans and fellow celebs gagged.
The Britain’s Got Talent icon took to social media on Thursday to confirm that new music is officially upon us, some six years after her last studio album, Ten, arrived in 2019.
“A new era starts tomorrow,” Boyle wrote on Instagram. She followed it up with another announcement of what seems to be a new single, which is titled “Just One” and she said is “coming soon”.
“I’ve heard it’s Susan Boyling out there… and it’s about to get hotter,” the singer wrote.
While the return of an icon like Susan Boyle is head-turning enough, what sticks out especially in this new album rollout is her dramatic aesthetic rebrand.
Boyle shared a bunch of pics sporting a new, Anna Wintour-looking FAB (f**k ass bob), wearing sunnies, and walking the streets in a bougie fur coat, hinting that a new pop diva is about to get her wings.
In another pic, Boyle is even wearing a velour tracksuit with the single title emblazoned on the back — a far cry from the gal who waltzed humbly onto the Britain’s Got Talent stage and won our hearts back in 2009.
Naturally, the rebrand has sent everyone into a tizzy, including a bunch of fellow celebs.
PinkPantheress offered a supportive “OKAYYY” in the comments of Boyle’s post, with Katy Perry saying she “dreamt this dream”, in reference to the Les Misérables song Boyle covered in her Britain’s Got Talent audition.
Elsewhere, singer Laufey said “we’re sat” for Boyle’s era, while drag artist Alexis Stone, who is known for impersonating celebrities, said the pics of the singer were “not me!”.
Other fans said the pics left them “gagged”, or joked that Rihanna “is on hiatus so Susan said ‘I’ll do it’.”
It marks a welcome and triumphant return for the musician, who revealed in 2023 that she had suffered a minor stroke that impacted her ability to sing.
Last year, she confirmed on social media that she’d returned to the studio — something she was told she “might never achieve again” — and it seems the hard work is now coming to fruition.
Boyle crept back into the public eye last year, when she became involved in Timothée Chalamet’s outlandish press tour for Marty Supreme. Now, she’s taking the spotlight for herself, with a divalicious new look to prove it.
Boyle did not reveal an exact release date for “Just One”, but we won’t be able to miss the motherquake whenever it lands.
