LOS ANGELES — Huntington Park police on Monday released surveillance video showing officers shooting a double amputee who was holding a knife as well as a recording of the 911 call from a stabbing victim that led to the fatal encounter.
In the video, three Huntington Park police officers approach Anthony Lowe, 36, as he hobbles away on what remains of his legs. He is carrying a knife, which police said he had used to stab a man, and is seen raising it above his head.
Lowe grasps the knife as the officers steady their guns at him, and at least one opens fire. He immediately falls to the ground.
