Surrogate at center of abortion dispute gives birth to severely ill baby

  • Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton intervened in support of West, prompting a court order to ensure the newborn receives necessary medical treatment.
  • The intended parents have denied refusing care, saying that they always sought proper medical advice and accused West of turning a family tragedy into political theatre.
  • The baby is now receiving stabilizing treatment ahead of surgery, whilst West is currently prevented from seeing the newborn under a temporary restraining order.
