A new study has found that the annual ‘salary’ of a stay-at-home parent - if they were paid for the jobs they do - is an estimated €53,480.
In Ireland, there are approximately 349,500 people who work as stay-at-home parents – and the vast majority of these (94%) are women.
Although many agree this is an incredibly important job, more than 8 in 10 people believe that the role of the stay-at-home parent is either under-supported or undervalued in Ireland.
