"Surprised to see" - Chelsea supporters react to Werner and Loftus-Cheek decisions vs Brentford

Thomas Tuchel has named his team for the visit of Brentford to Stamford Bridge this Saturday, with four changes from their last outing, a cup win over Middlesbrough.

Kai Havertz, Marcos Alonso, N’Golo Kante, Timo Werner and Kai Havertz all return, with Kante making his 250th Chelsea appearance. Meanwhile, Malang Sarr, Mateo Kovacic, Romelu Lukaku and Christian Pulisic all make way.

Chelsea fans have reacted on social media to the team news with Twitter user RaserRendanX revealing their surprise that Ruben Loftus Cheek keeps his place in the starting XI. They tweeted: "Surprised to see Ruben starting. Hope he does well - Looks like a different formation - Here's to another kai goal and a W"

Another user, CfcSheikh commented on a potential change in formation for the Blues, saying: "4 at the back. Havertz in attack. Let's get the win."

There is still no place for Romelu Lukaku in the squad, with the record summer signing not enjoying his best form for the Blues this season and one user yeswekante7 commented on the striker's absence, even after a two week rest during the international break.

They wrote: "No Lukaku when he was on vacation for 2 weeks tells you everything you need to know he is not tuchel guy like we said so many times he was never Chelsea level,he was board signing I hope the new owner change things up no more board signing only the ones the manager ask for"

For Brentford, Christian Eriksen makes his return to the starting XI after two goals in the international break for Denmark on his return to the international scene.

Brentford: Raya; Ajer, Jansson (c), Pinnock; Roerslev, Nørgaard, Janelt, Eriksen, Henry; Mbeumo, Toney

Subs: Fernández, Canós, Jensen, Wissa, Ghoddos, Zanka, Fosu, Baptiste, Bech,

Chelsea: Mendy; Azpilicueta (c), Silva, Rudiger, Alonso; Loftus-Cheek, Kanté, Mount; Ziyech, Werner, Havertz

Subs: Kepa, Christensen, Jorginho, Kovačić, Lukaku, Ñíguez, Barkley, James, Sarr

It certainly doesn't spell good news for Lukaku, as he certainly would have been hoping to reignite his Chelsea season with the visit of Brentford.
