Eddie Howe has included Isaac Hayden on the club's warm weather training trip to the United Arab Emirates. The squad arrived in Dubai over the weekend with the former Arsenal midfielder on board the flight to the Middle East.
Hayden has not featured for the Magpies since last December when he appeared in the 4-0 defeat against Manchester City before then picking up a knee injury. Hayden subsequently went under the knife and was then not registered for the second half of the campaign.
However, the Newcastle head coach will take a look at Hayden - who is now back in training - during the club's stay in the luxirous resort. Hayden will be aiming to be back up to full speed for the start of pre-season with Howe's decision to take him to the Middle East a hint he still has a future with Newcastle.

United also have Callum Wilson with them with the striker hoping to make a return at some stage next month. Wilson is back on the grass and building up to a full return to training ahead of the important month of April.
Newcastle's trio of home games against Wolverhampton Wanderers, Leicester City and Crystal Palace may come too soon for the ex-AFC Bournemouth star. But games at Norwich in late April and at home to Liverpool for the big televised lunchtime clash at St James' Park could be within range for Wilson.
Internationals such as Miguel Almiron, Martin Dubravka, Bruno Guimaraes, Emil Krafth, Fabian Schar and Chris Wood are not present on the trip as they represent their countries. Newcastle will be working from the Nad Al Sheba Sports Complex.
