Suri Cruise has opted not to use her estranged father’s surname in the playbill of her school’s musical production.
The daughter of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, who turned 18 on April 18, reportedly portrayed Philoclea in The Go-Go’s jukebox musical Head Over Heels.
In the playbill, the actress listed herself as “Suri Noelle,” taking on the middle name of her mother and ditching the Mission Impossible star’s surname, Hello Magazine reported.
The teen has previously covered Richard Rodgers and Lorenz Hart’s Blue Moon, which opened the second film directed by Katie, Alone Together.

“I always want the highest level of talent, so I asked her,” the proud mom told Yahoo! Entertainment in 2022.
“She’s very talented. She said she would do it and she recorded it, and I let her do her thing. That’s the way I direct in general. It’s like, ‘This is what I think we all want, and then go do your thing.”‘
Katie and her parents, Martin and Kathleen, attended the Head Over Heels stage show in support of the rising star.

Suri’s decision to adopt her mom’s middle name comes after reports indicated that the teen has been estranged from her father since she was a little girl.
The 18-year-old, who shares a strong bond with her mother, was raised by her in New York.
She’s also not believed to have a relationship with her half-siblings, Bella and Connor, who Tom Cruise adopted with his ex-wife, Nicole Kidman.
The Dawson’s Creek actress divorced Tom in 2012 when Suri was six years old.
The Top Gun star reportedly paid Katie $4.8M in child support for Suri. He also agreed to pay for his daughter’s college tuition as well as “medical, dental, insurance, education, college and other extracurricular costs.”
In November 2013, Tom admitted that Katie had filed for divorce “to protect Suri from Scientology”

It’s believed that Suri’s estrangement from her father is connected to the 61-year-old’s affiliation with the controversial Church of Scientology, founded by writer L. Ron Hubbard.
In November 2013, during a deposition in his 50-million court battle against a pair of tabloid magazines, Tom admitted that Katie had filed for divorce “to protect Suri from Scientology,” court documents revealed.

Regular members who walk away from the church are declared “suppressive persons (SP),” and those who stay in Scientology are told to completely cut them off from their lives.
Tom “does not exist to Katie or Suri, and his daughter does not want to rely on him for anything,” a source told the DailyMail on April 18.
“She feels that she has one parent, and that is her mother.”
