Surging Brazilian Real Boosts Coffee Prices

Ice Brazil USDA Vietnam ICO

December arabica coffee (KCZ26) is up +5.50 (+1.90%) today, and November ICE robusta coffee (RMX26) is up +59 (+1.70%).

Coffee prices are sharply higher today, with arabica posting a 3.5-week high and robusta posting a 6-week high. Strength in the Brazilian real (^USDBRL) is boosting coffee prices as the real surged to a 4.5-month high against the dollar today. The stronger real discourages export sales from Brazil’s coffee producers.
