Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer has criticised the US Supreme Court's latest intervention on mail-in voting, calling the ruling in Washington a 'dagger into the heart of our democracy' as President Donald Trump's contested policy edges closer to being implemented just weeks before the midterm elections.
The court's decision came after a coalition of Democrat-led states rushed to block Trump's executive order on mail-in ballots, warning it could disrupt November's vote and disenfranchise eligible voters.
