The US Supreme Court has cleared the way for Donald Trump's new White House ballroom to keep rising, issuing a narrow 5-4 unsigned ruling that allows construction to continue while the legal fight over the project moves through the lower courts.
The justices did not rule that the $400 million (£310 million) project is lawful. Instead, the majority concluded that the National Trust for Historic Preservation is likely unable to establish the legal standing needed to challenge it.
