Singer Ed Sheeran hopes to become the newest superstar on the block...by selling suncream.
Superstar Ed, 31, worth a sizzling £260million, already flogs Jackson Pollock-inspired art, has his own restaurant and a management company.
And he reckons his pale, red headed complexion will be a good advert for his own range of ultra-strong Factor 70 cream.
He says he wants to launch the product “for fun” – and some extra pocket money, explaining: “You would buy suncream if my face was on it, because you’d be like: ‘He definitely knows what he’s talking about.’ If you were going to a hot country and you needed Factor 70.”
In 2015, he was praised for maintaining his milky natural tones while filming a cameo in Home and Away on a beach in Australia.
It is common for popstars to move into skincare products – with Victoria Beckham and J-Lo launching their own beauty ranges, and many perfumes on the market.
Ed’s ex-girlfriend Ellie Goulding co-owns a range of alcoholic seltzer, and Lewis Capaldi has a line of frozen pizzas.
The Chalatans’ Tim Burgess released some breakfast cereal with Kellogg’s in 2012, and in 2010 JLS released a range of condoms.
Ed has another idea for a lucrative product launch, suggesting on That Peter Crouch podcast a line of ginger beer.
During the chat, he also revealed he has installed touch screens to show the football league tables under TVs in the pub he owns on his estate in Suffolk.
He also bought a neon Ipswich Town sign to hang in his bar, after becoming the club’s shirt sponsor. One thing’s for sure...his suncream could help keep his admirers in Perfect shape...
