Jo Frost wouldn't put Prince Louis on 'naughty step' - and says Kate is 'role model mum'

The Queen was meant to be the biggest topic of conversation over the last week as the nation marked her 70-year reign with Platinum Jubilee celebrations.

However, instead, another member of the royal family has been stealing attention - young Prince Louis.

The four-year-old stole the show over the weekend with his cheeky antics, hilarious facial expressions and interactions with his siblings and parents, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

But was he actually being naughty when we saw him on the balcony of Buckingham Palace on Thursday and at the Pageant on Sunday?

Parenting expert Jo Frost, best known for her TV show 'Supernanny' doesn't think so - and claims she wouldn't have put him on her iconic 'naughty step'.

Speaking to The Mirror, Frost said: "For such a young age, Prince Louis did extremely well with Royal protocol on the balcony. There was much to take in and absorb, no doubt beautifully overwhelming.

"I agree with the sentiment that what we saw was an insight into Louis' personality and quirky temperament which was a delight to see.

"[At the Pageant] what we all saw was a four-year-old holding up physically strong to a long day, with sitting and doing lots of things that aren't involved in a typical day for Prince Louis, like most children if they go to a special event.

"I think The Duchess of Cambridge had the right measure of being empathetic to Prince Louis' needs and holding firm with boundaries when he was testing them. So no time out needed."

The 51-year-old went on to share that she didn't see any issue with Prince George and Princess Charlotte staying up late for the concert on Saturday, despite a long weekend of events before school on Monday.

"For a one-off occasion Princess Charlotte and Prince George were up with thousands of other children their age celebrating in the fun of this special event and it was wonderful for the Royals to witness this remarkable special occasion," she said.

"They will I'm sure feel a bit tired the next day but nothing no other child feels if doing the same coming from a wedding or staying up late on vacation."

And she also didn't see the harm in Prince Louis being on a "sugar high", as Mike Tindall recently claimed.

"Name me a parent who hasn't done the same at some point, on a plane, a wedding, a graduation," she quipped.

Frost added that she believes Kate Middleton and Prince William are "great role models" for their children - upholding royal duty and maintaining boundaries but also letting the kids be themselves.

"I think there's outside scrutiny and pressure [on the Cambridges] but I don't believe these children have as such from their parents but to be anything but themselves and to have good social conduct and manners like I wish all parents would teach their children.

"The children seemed to have a lot of fun, singing along and joining in waving their flags.

"We saw the Duchess of Cambridge [tell Prince Louis off] when she would lean in and talk to him and Prince Louis would cross his arms and strike a pose.

"I also believe both parents are doing a wonderful job with Prince William being naturally very intuitive.

"I love how they have a good measure on upholding royal duty and protocol whilst parenting and really being very grounded and empathetic. They are great role models.""
