The supermarket giants have been given permission to sell frozen turkeys in the fresh produce section this year, as avian flu creates massive shortages.
This news has come as industry bosses revealed that 600,000 of the 1.2 million free range birds to be sold this festive season have either died or been culled, reports the Mirror.
This is the result of the widespread avian flu outbreak, and certain rules are now being eased to allow birds to be killed early and defrosted before they are sold in stores.
