Supergran stops knifeman from killing ex-wife by SITTING on him - and she'd do it again

Supergran Katherine Jordan risked her life to stop a deranged knifeman from killing his ex-wife… by SITTING on him.

The 65-year-old care home worker pinned Thuan Dinh to the ground until police arrived.

Katherine – who is just 5ft 3in – was walking past a beauty salon in Tonbridge, Kent, with her partner Roger Trask, 74, when they heard frantic shouts for help from a colleague of Lien Dinh, 51.

After bursting in to the salon, they saw Dinh sitting on top of his stricken ex-wife, whose neck had been slashed, eyes gouged and was soaked in blood.

Katherine, from nearby Golden Green, said: “I saw this man over a lady and I just thought, to start with, that he was helping her.

“But he just turned around and stared as if he wasn’t with us. I said, ‘Get off her’, and pulled him off by the scruff of his shirt. Roger then helped and another chap came in and we pulled him off.

“I then sat on him as he lay in a fetal position.

“Roger was on the phone to the emergency services and they asked if the man could still breathe.

“I said, ‘Oh, he can breathe!’ and knelt on him until the police arrived.”

Maidstone crown court heard how Dinh, 53, launched the attack in March 2020 – a day after his ex-wife gave evidence to magistrates about an earlier assault.

Prosecutors said it had “pushed him over the edge” and he plotted to kill her.

Dinh was jailed for 28 years for the attempted murder of his ex-wife.

During sentencing, Katherine was praised by Judge Philip St John-Stevens for her role in saving Ms Dinh.

Last night, the brave OAP said: “I’d do it again.”

She added: “I feel elated… really good about it. But at the time I just wanted to help and get this man away from her.”
